1/4″ deep. Sow approximately 6-8 weeks before last frost in green house. It is best if green house temperatures do not drop below 65 degrees. Eggplant can be transplanted 1-2 weeks earlier if kept under row cover (which may be advisable while plants are small to prevent flea beetle damage).
Prefers a slightly acidic soil with a pH of 6.5-6.8. Spraying with compost tea at transplant is recommended.
Eggplant is a warmer weather crop and will NOT tolerate frost.
Remove fruits when they are 6-12″ long and fruit is still firm. Skin will be more tender than other varieties.
