HARVEST
After ~70 days (or 16-22 days after silking), ears should have filled out their husks or at least started. Check an ear or two by peeling back the husk and looking to see if the kernels are developed. Not sure? Give a raw ear a bite – that will surely let you know! Corn doesn’t stay sweet on the stalk for long, harvest corn when it becomes mature and store in a cool place rather than leaving it on the stalk.

COMPANION PLANTING
Grows well with beans, both bush and pole as well as melons, pumpkins, and squash which will vine around the base of stalks. Growing beans, squash, and corn together is known as the Native American “Three Sisters” planting.
