Deep burgundy red kernels pop to a bright white, flavorful, crisp popcorn. Vigorous, high yielding, 7 ft. plants with 24 rows of kernels on 4-5 in. ears. It’s hard to find an open pollinated popcorn that matures to full popping stage in zone 4 and further North. This variety has popped well when grown in upstate NY and W. Mass.

SOWING
After danger of frost, direct seed corn every foot in two rows/bed .5-1″ deep. Rows should be at least 18″ apart. Plant popcorn early as it requires the full season to mature. Corn pollinates best if grown in blocks. A little extra spacing between plants does not hurt as this allows good air flow through the plants as the kernels mature.
Some corn varieties can be sown indoors and transplanted. Please let us know if you have experience transplanting this variety!
