HARVEST

Harvest leaves as you need them for cooking or tea. For dried leaves to save and use throughout the winter months, harvest the stalk from where it emerges at the stem at flowering stage or slightly before and hang upside-down in a dry area with ample circulation. (If frost is upon you, cut the entire plant at the base and hang to dry! Otherwise, harvesting branch by branch will encourage the plant to produce new growth.)

USES & COOKING SUGGESTIONS

Holy Basil, Tulsi, is touted for its medicinal properties especially promoting respiratory health, stress relief, and mindfulness. It is most commonly consumed as a tea using fresh or dried leaves. To make the tea, simply cover 2 teaspoons of holy basil leaves with 1 cup of boiling water, and let it steep for about 5 minutes (20 minutes for higher potency). Strain the leaves before drinking.
