Composting Workshop & Seedling Sale – April 21

Healthy soil is the basis of successful growing, and compost is the basis of building healthy soil. Learn to create a productive compost pile the biodynamic way with Ian Robb, co-manager of Turtle Tree biodynamic and organic seed company, on April 21 at Camphill Village in Copake, NY.

This workshop is being held in coordination with Turtle Tree’s April seedling sale, when biodynamically grown cool-season plants for immediate transplanting outdoors, such as Brassicas, lettuce, flowers and more, will be available–plus a full range of garden seeds, books, and Turtle Tree T-shirts. The sale is from 10-2 PM at the Turtle Tree headquarters, 10 White Birch Road, Copake, within Camphill Village.

All revenues support the work of non-profit Turtle Tree Seed.

All are welcome without reservation at the 10 AM-2 PM Plant Sale; Composting Workshop (from 9 to noon) requires a ticket, and is limited to 20 participants.

The Composting Workshop will combine hands-on compost pile building, and then a tea-break and discussion of home-garden composting how-to’s. Plus: Ian will discuss the biodynamic compost preparations–powerful natural ingredients added to the pile.
