Rodelika Carrot Seeds
DAYS TO HARVEST
Sow rodelika carrot seeds .5-1″ apart just under the soil surface. Keep soil consistently moist until germination.
Sandy to medium clay/loam
Greens can be ~8″
Around 35 days, thin carrots to about every 2″ harvesting baby carrots and greens in between.
Greens will die with frost, however, roots will remain intact in the soil and can even sweeten until a hard frost (28-30 degrees).
Harvest rodelika ~70 days from planting. You can pull a carrot or two to check if they are at the desirable size. Often, carrots will push their “shoulders” up out of the soil when they are ready for harvest.
Grows well with peas, beans, chicory, endive, and lettuce or chives, onions, or leeks. Rosemary, sage, and lemon balm may help keep carrot flies at bay.
